Château de Sourdéac stands in La Gacilly (Morbihan), in the Bretagne region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Overlooking the Aff valley near La Gacilly, Sourdéac castle has mainly kept a 16th century stair turret, the most striking remnant of a building raised by Jean V de Rieux on an earlier medieval manor. The main residence was heavily altered over the centuries, yet the octagonal turret, its mullioned windows and stone fireplaces still reflect Breton Renaissance architecture. The site also witnessed clashes during the Wars of Religion and later hosted novelist Paul Féval in the 19th century.
