What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château construit au 17e siècle, à la place d'un château du 15e siècle, détruit en 1633. Il fut élevé par la famille Ferrières de Sauveboeuf, peut-être par Nicolas Rambourg. Mirabeau passa une partie de son enfance à Sauveboeuf qui devint, au 19e siècle, une propriété de la famille Oberkampf. Les bâtiments s'élèvent autour d'une cour carrée ; la charpente d'origine a été conservée malgré les importantes restaurations du 19e siècle.
