Château de Sales stands in Libourne (Gironde), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first half of the 17th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Château de Sales stands at Libourne, at the heart of a Pomerol vineyard it has overlooked since the 17th century. Built in the first half of that century, probably by Jean de Sauvanelle, then mayor of the town, it retains the enclosed layout of a fortress arranged around a square courtyard, with manierist decoration. Around the main building, an access lane, ponds and gardens reflect the changes made during the 18th and 19th centuries.
