The Château du Pintey, in Libourne in the Gironde, dates from the 18th century and reads more as a country house than a fortified residence. Its central block, topped by a triangular pediment, extends into two wings each containing two rooms, served on the east side by a groin-vaulted corridor. The outbuildings, set at right angles to the main house, complete the layout, along with a dovecote still standing on the estate.
