What the French Ministry of Culture records

Ancienne commanderie de l'ordre de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem fondée sans doute au 12e siècle, et restaurée vers 1540. Cette commanderie faisait partie de la langue de Provence. Après la prise de la Bastille, la commanderie est pillée. L'édifice se présente comme un corps barlong, accosté d'un donjon carré du 14e siècle, avec chemin de ronde sur corbeaux et, à l'angle opposé, une tourelle du 16e siècle découronnée. Il est complété par un second bâtiment, avec tour de défense carrée. Les anciennes douves ont été comblées. Toiture en ardoise de Brive.
