Château de Saligny stands in Saligny-sur-Roudon (Allier), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century, 16th century, 17th century, third quarter of the 19th century). On the banks of the Roudon river, in the Allier department, the château de Saligny forms a horseshoe-shaped group of buildings around its courtyard, combining a 14th century keep with a Gothic residential wing and 17th century additions. The estate passed through several noble families, from the Lourdin de Saligny to the Coligny, before being acquired in 1834 by the Collas de Châtelperron, whose descendants, the Jehannot d'Huriel de Bartillat, still own it today. Inside, two fireplaces survive, one Gothic and one Renaissance, while the entrance pavilion still shows the grooves of a former drawbridge, and the whole château remains surrounded by its moat.
