Set on a hilltop between the Bervezou and Burlande valleys, on the edge between the Lot and the Cantal, Puy-Launay castle overlooks a landscape of green hills. Built mainly in the 15th century by the Narbonnès family on the remains of an earlier seigneurial tower, it retains a quadrangular main building flanked by two round towers whose battlements were cut down during the Revolution. Inside, a great hall on the first floor displays painted floral decoration imitating tapestry, and a room known as the François I chamber keeps a 17th-century ceiling.
