In Capdenac-Gare, the château de Saint-Julien d'Empare retains the outline of a former stronghold reshaped in the 18th century. Three towers from the medieval defensive layout survive, including one standing alone some fifteen metres from the main building, remnants of a system that once overlooked the crossing of the Lot river. The current main wing, built in the third quarter of the 18th century, replaced the original structures between the two remaining towers. The moats that once surrounded the site have vanished, though their outline can still be traced to the west.
