What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château semble dater du 16e siècle, et avoir été restauré au 18e siècle. Son rôle défensif se retrouvait dans la présence de fossés disparus au 18e. Le château contrôlait le passage du Lot, près de Capdenac. L'édifice est constitué d'un corps d'habitation central allongé (18e) , flanqué de deux tours à ses extrémités. Autrefois rattachée à la tour nord par un pan de mur dont les traces subsistent, une autre tour est située à quinze mètres. A la Révolution, le château et les terres furent vendus comme biens nationaux.
