What the French Ministry of Culture records

Edifié dans le troisième quart du 18e siècle, le château s'apparente plutôt à une grosse maison de maître avec dépendances. Construit sur plan rectangulaire, à quatre tours d'angle. La façade principale sur la rue présente les proportions classiques des maisons du 18e siècle (élévation à deux niveaux séparés par des moulurations de briques, et terminés par un bandeau attique). Les trois travées centrales sont surmontées par un fronton triangulaire percé d'un occulus. L'originalité de l'édifice consiste dans le parti adopté pour la partie supérieure des quatre tours d'angle : frontons demi-circulaires, percés d'occuli, sur trois faces. Le plan intérieur est significatif des nouvelles conceptions de la vie familiale et domestique au 18e siècle (pièces en enfilade sur les façades principales et pièces de service à l'arrière, séparées par un couloir de desserte). Logis agrandi au 19e siècle. Dans les deux cours de part et d'autre, communs reconstruits autour de 1900.
