Built in the second half of the 16th century on land belonging to a priory of the Fontevrault order, Château Sainte-Marie in Longages combines a fortress structure with aspirations toward a pleasure residence. Its quadrilateral plan, flanked by four corner towers, is complemented by an original Renaissance eastern façade, the only one to retain its authentic character, whose windows are adorned with pilasters and capitals. Other elevations were remodeled over the centuries, while the interior largely dates from the 19th century, except for a spiral staircase in the southwest tower.
