To make a day of it

Château de Pesselières stands in Jalognes (Cher), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century, 16th century). The building is not open to visitors.

In Jalognes, in the Cher department, the château de Pesselières stands on the site of a fortified manor first recorded in 1170, its U shaped layout and moat still recalling the medieval château-cour plan. The façades combine 14th century elements with 17th century alterations and a neo-gothic campaign begun in 1881, which gave the main tower its crenellated silhouette. The grounds include a park crossed by a stream, a dovecote, a 19th century chapel and the outbuildings of a former farmyard.
