What the French Ministry of Culture records

Fief qui relevait de l'Ile Bouchard. Précédé au nord par une avant cour dont l'accès se fait par une porte fortifiée ouverte dans un mur aboutissant à deux tours cylindriques, entouré de douves sèches, le château se compose de bâtiments occupant les trois côtés nord, ouest et sud. L'accès à la cour d'honneur, au nord, se fait par un pont dormant et un pont levis conduisant à une porte défendue par une tour cylindrique du début du 16e siècle. Les bâtiments d'habitation se développent à l'ouest et au sud de la cour et sont accompagnés extérieurement de trois tours rectangulaires. En 1750, une chapelle fut ajoutée à la façade sud. Ce château a été restauré de 1907 à 1912.
