Rising above the village of Montmort-Lucy in the Marne region, this château combines a medieval outline with a rebuilding completed in 1577 under Jeanne de Hangest. A double moat, a three-arch bridge, towers reshaped into bastions and a turreted gatehouse make up a singular ensemble, held for more than three centuries by the Hangest, Créquy and then Remond de Montmort families. Now a listed monument, it can currently only be viewed from the outside, as the property is no longer open to visitors.
