Château de Monte-Cristo stands in Le Port-Marly (Yvelines), in the Île-de-France region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second quarter of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on October 25, 2026.

Alexandre Dumas had this residence built between 1844 and 1847, combining a Renaissance style pavilion with an English style park overlooking the Seine. Visitors can see the main house, decorated with carvings reflecting his interests and featuring a Moorish style salon, as well as the small neo-Gothic castle called château d'If, set apart on an artificial island. The property still bears the writer's mark, from his interlaced initials to the titles of his works carved into the stone.
