To make a day of it
Château des Lions stands in Le Port-Marly (Yvelines), in the Île-de-France region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first half of the 17th century). No visits are on record for this building.
Now home to the town hall of Le Port-Marly, the château des Lions hides behind its administrative façade a rare painted ceiling from the 17th century, in what is known as the Jacques II room. Rebuilt in the early 19th century on the site of an older seigneurial house, it takes its name from the two lion statues flanking its entrance gate. The painter Camille Corot once stayed here and produced several works now held in major museums.
