What the French Ministry of Culture records

Vers 1630, le président au parlement de Paris, René de Longueil, charge François Mansart de la construction d'un château à Maisons-sur-Seine. Le château est inauguré en 1651, en présence de Louis XIV et de la régente Anne d'Autriche. En 1777, le comte d'Artois acquiert le domaine. En 1804, le maréchal Lannes, duc de Montebello achète le château et le parc et le fait réaménager. En 1818, le banquier Jacques Lafitte rachète le domaine, fait lotir le grand parc et démolit les écuries. Après plusieurs propriétaires successifs pendant la seconde moitié du 19e siècle, l'Etat achète le château en 1905.
