What the French Ministry of Culture records

A l'emplacement d'une forteresse médiévale, construction du château à la fin du 16e et au début du 17e siècle, dans le style Henri IV (actuelle partie centrale du corps de logis en pierre et brique, avec des combles élevés). En 1712, terres et château entrent dans le patrimoine des Breteuil : nombreux agrandissements et embellissements, en particulier création d'un jardin à la française. Vers 1900, réfection des jardins par Henri et Achille Duchêne et construction des deux ailes en retour d'équerre.
