To make a day of it

Château de Villebon-sur-Yvette stands in Villebon-sur-Yvette (Essonne), in the Île-de-France region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Château de Villebon-sur-Yvette stands on the southern slope of the Yvette valley, in the Essonne department, roughly twenty kilometres from Paris. The estate still holds Renaissance features, the Sully pavilion that forms the entrance gate, the water tower and the Henri IV pavilion, remnants of the building campaigns led by the de Thou family in the sixteenth century. The park, now some twenty hectares, keeps two historic avenues named François Ier and Henri IV, along with a lake and a spring. The grounds today house a Catholic school and a spiritual retreat centre, which greatly restricts access to the older buildings.
