What the French Ministry of Culture records

L'édifice présente un plan en U, cantonné de quatre tours d'angle rondes. Le corps de logis et les ailes présentent, au rez-de-chaussée, des baies en arc segmentaire alternant avec des baies en plein cintre, surmontées chacune d'un oeil de boeuf. La distribution a conservé la disposition du 18e siècle. Des aménagements et des décors ont été réalisés au 19e siècle. La grande dîmière est située au nord-est du parc. Le château, entouré de terrasses, cours, communs et jardins, sont implantés depuis le 18e siècle dans une composition en prise avec le paysage. Le parc, mentionné sur un plan du 18e siècle, a été remanié à plusieurs reprises au 19e siècle. Doté de fabriques dont la signification reste énigmatique, ce parc est un exemple unique en Dordogne.
