Château de Marçay stands in Chouppes (Vienne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 12th century, 14th century, 15th century, 17th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

Chapelle et cimetière (tombes comprises) : 12e siècle, 14e siècle, 15e siècle ; Château et communs : 17e siècle, 18e siècle. Progressivement abandonné au cours du 20e siècle, l'édifice est tombé en ruine. Le fief existait dès le 11e siècle. Au début du 16e siècle, l'édifce est décrit enclos de murs, douves et tours. Bien que remanié pendant la Renaissance, il possédait encore le caractère des vieux manoirs féodaux. Les bâtiments sont compris entre deux cours entourées de douves. Ils comportent un rez-de-chaussée, deux étages et un comble dont les lucarnes étaient à frontons alternativement triangulaires et circulaires. Au deuxième étage, dans l'axe de l'entrée, une fenêtre est encadrée de deux tourelles en encorbellement avec toits en poivrière. Les communs comportaient un rez-de-chaussée et un étage dont les fenêtres à frontons triangulaires et circulaires dépassaient la base du toit. Des communs ne subsiste plus qu'une partie du pavillon nord de l'aile ouest. La chapelle est à peu près intacte. Le cimetière a disparu.
