To make a day of it

Château de Malesherbes stands in Le Malesherbois (Loiret), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century, fourth quarter of the 16th century, first quarter of the 17th century, 18th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In Malesherbes, in the Loiret department, stands a château whose medieval origins remain visible in three towers with hourds, remnants of the 14th and 15th century fortress. In the early 18th century, architect Pierre de Vigny built the main residential block in a classical style, while Robert de Cotte designed part of the interior decoration. The estate recalls the relationship between Henri IV and Henriette d'Entragues, as well as Chrétien Guillaume de Lamoignon de Malesherbes, a defender of Louis XVI, who planted a notable arboretum here. Around the main house, the chapel, the steward's lodge, the dovecote and the former granaries of the outer courtyard form a group of outbuildings still standing today.
