In Reugny, above the Brenne valley, this château preserves from its 14th-century fortress a fortified gateway flanked by two round towers, one of which served as a dovecote before becoming a chapel in the 19th century. The buildings seen today mostly date from a 16th-century rebuilding commissioned by the La Baume Le Blanc family, whose descendant Louise became duchess of La Vallière and mistress to Louis XIV. The estate remains privately owned, so visitors are generally limited to viewing the exterior.
