To make a day of it

Château de la Motte stands in Usseau (Vienne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second half of the 15th century, 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Château de la Motte, in Usseau in the Vienne department, stands on the site of a feudal motte dating from before the 15th century. The current manor house was built in the second half of the 15th century, then altered in the 18th and 19th centuries by monks who changed several of its elevations. Its interior once held early 16th-century wall paintings showing a hunting scene and a view of the château and its village, both now lost.
