Built in 1604, the château de la Force featured an ambitious layout based on an irregular hexagonal plan, with a French garden and outbuildings arranged around a central entrance pavilion. Demolished in 1793 and used as a stone quarry, only the central stable pavilion, known as the Recettes, survives today, protected as a historical monument since 1932.
