To make a day of it

Château de La Combe de Sermur stands in Sermur (Creuse), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Château de La Combe stands in Sermur, in the Creuse department, within an estate still shaped by water and its old uses. The 16th century main building shows two contrasting faces: a front façade lined with regular window openings, and a sterner rear side dominated by two round towers joined under a single roof. Around the main house, a dovecote, a barn stable and three mills reflect a farming complex that has kept its coherence. The site stands out mainly for its hydraulic network, pond, dam and canals, which once fed the mills and fish ponds.
