Château de Bridiers stands in La Souterraine (Creuse), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century). Admission is free. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Bridiers castle stands east of La Souterraine, in the Creuse department, its circular 13th-century keep being the best-preserved element of what was once a pentagon-shaped fortress. The ruins recall a turbulent past, including a siege led by Henry II of England in 1177 and an occupation by the Captal de Buch's men in 1356. A medieval garden spreads at the foot of the tower, kept in part by a herd of Rove goats. The grounds suit both a quiet walk and an interest in medieval military architecture.
