What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château construit à la fin du 16e siècle pour Gabriel Foucauld, à l'emplacement d'un édifice du 12e siècle dont il ne subsiste rien. Construit sur un plan pentagonal, avec de grosses tours circulaires aux angles, il n'en subsiste que le corps de logis principal, trois grosses tours et une petite. Le corps de logis principal est élevé d'un étage sur rez-de-chaussée. Les mâchicoulis en briques reposent sur des corbeaux en granit. De larges douves entourent la plateforme du château. Un portique du 17e siècle en briques et pierre marquant une entrée du château est le témoin d'une restauration au 17e siècle. L'escalier intérieur voûté sur croisées d'ogives date du 16e siècle.
