To make a day of it

Château de Duingt stands in Duingt (Haute-Savoie), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Perched on a rocky promontory above the village of Duingt, on the shores of Lake Annecy, stand the ruins of a fortified castle reworked in the 14th or 15th century. Only an octagonal tower and remnants of the surrounding wall survive today, remains of a stronghold that once watched over the road linking Geneva to Moûtiers. The keep has an unusual feature: a hexagonal outer shape enclosing a circular interior.
