Château des Avenières stands in Cruseilles (Haute-Savoie), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Château des Avenières stands above the Cruseilles plateau in Haute-Savoie, set within a sixty-two-hectare wooded estate. Built in the early twentieth century at the initiative of two American women, Mary Wallace Shillito and Marcelle Sénard, it combines the Burgundian lines designed by architect Louis Guinot with the neo-Gothic spirit later carried on by Paul Morel. A chapel added in 1917 by Mary's second husband, Assan Farid Dina, rounds out a property with an unusual past involving patronage, esoteric circles and the sheltering of children during wartime. Now run as a hotel and restaurant by the Odin family, the estate is experienced today mainly through a stay or a meal rather than a conventional visit.
