Château de Colombières stands in Colombières (Calvados), in the Normandie region of France. What the French Ministry of Culture records

La place forte est mentionnée dès 1147. Il s'agit d'une maison forte ayant évolué vers la demeure de plaisance. La forteresse est ruinée par la guerre de Cent ans. Le corps de bâtiment actuel a été reconstruit à la fin du 15e siècle et présente une tour octogonale. Au 16e siècle, les descriptions font état d'un château clos de murailles, de tours, de fossés en eau avec pont-levis et guet. Au 17e siècle, François de Bricqueville, noble protestant, aménage la partie donnant sur la cour intérieure, ajoutant la tour à pans coupés et de nouvelles ouvertures. La chapelle est transformée en temple. Un nouvel aménagement est réalisé au 18e siècle : abaissement des toitures, création de lucarnes. Les dernières modifications sont apportées à l'édifice à la veille de la Révolution.
