What the French Ministry of Culture records

En 1683, la terre est érigée en marquisat et le propriétaire, Philippe de Boran, décide la construction d'un nouveau château près de l'ancienne maison manable. De cette époque datent l'allée d'accès, le château, la cour d'honneur, les douves, le canal latéral nord, les bâtiments de la basse-cour. Sous la Restauration, l'architecte Harou-Romain agrandit et décore le château. En 1849, le parc français classique est recomposé en parc paysager par Châtelain. Au début du 20e siècle, les parterres sont restructurés à la française, ainsi qu'une partie du canal latéral.
