To make a day of it

Château de Jucoville stands in La Cambe (Calvados), in the Normandie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

At La Cambe, in Calvados, the Château de Jucoville appears at the end of a wooded lane, behind an entrance pavilion topped with a bell-shaped roof dating from the mid 17th century. The estate blends several periods: a late 15th century Gothic chapel dedicated to Saint Roch, an early 18th century dovecote, and outbuildings reworked over the centuries. The château itself, rebuilt in the early 19th century, belonged to a succession of Norman families whose mark remains visible in the buildings.
