What the French Ministry of Culture records
Le château date du 16e siècle. Il comprenait alors le bâtiment principal rectangulaire et la tourelle d'escalier qui flanque la façade sud. Il est possible que les deux tours situées aux angles nord-est et nord-ouest soient plus anciennes. Les communs, y compris le pigeonnier et le moulin du 17e siècle, datent de l'époque où le chapitre de Saint-Etienne de Bourges, propriétaire du château de 1687 à 1789, le transforma en exploitation agricole. Au 18e siècle fut construite une aile basse, en retour vers le sud. Au 19e siècle, construction d'un pavillon à l'est de la tour qui flanque l'angle nord-est du bâtiment principal, pavillon édifié dans le style de la Renaissance. En même temps, dans la façade sur cour de l'aile 18e, était percée une porte surmontée d'une lucarne, l'une et l'autre pastichant le style du 16e siècle.
