Château de Chevilly stands in Méreau (Cher), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 16th century, 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
In Méreau, in the Cher department, the château de Chevilly retains the architecture of a 15th-century residence, built around a rectangular main building with a stair turret on its south facade. Two corner towers, possibly older than the rest of the structure, flank the main block. Moats fed by the Arnon river surround the whole, completed by farm outbuildings, a dovecote and a mill dating from the 17th century, when the chapter of Saint-Étienne de Bourges ran the estate as a farm. Later centuries added a low wing in the 18th and an east pavilion in the 19th, built in a neo-Renaissance style that deliberately echoes the original one.
