The château de Challement stands on the southern slope of a hill overlooking the valley, in the Nièvre department. The site brings together three periods: the remains of a 16th-century castle with its stair turret, a main building begun in 1750 and never finished, and outbuildings built during the 17th and 18th centuries. The estate also retains a formal park with terraces, ponds and lime tree avenues. The building is currently undergoing restoration and is not open to visitors.
