What the French Ministry of Culture records

A l'origine, cette petite maison-forte fut bâtie, au 14ème siècle, afin de protéger un domaine agricole. Elle fut modifiée au 16ème siècle puis devint, au 17ème siècle, la propriété du calviniste Louis de Blosset. Le château se compose d'un corps de logis couvert d'un toit à pente raide et flanqué de deux tours rondes et d'une tourelle d'escalier. Deux pilastres d'ordre ionique encadrent les baies situées à gauche de la tourelle. La façade nord présente plusieurs baies étroites ainsi qu'une grande baie moulurée. On note également la présence d'échauguettes masquées par le toit du logis. Une porte en plein cintre ouvre la tourelle d'escalier, percée de canonnières. Cette porte est encadrée par des pilastres à bossages chanfreinés soutenant un entablement mouluré. Les tours rondes sont couronnées de toits coniques en tuiles. Des bâtiments agricoles ainsi que des écuries viennent compléter l'ensemble. Les décors intérieurs des 16ème et 17ème siècles furent partiellement pillés dans les années 1990 et 2000.
