At Cervon, in the Nièvre department, the château de Lantilly stands on a medieval fortified site of which only two perpendicular wings and one tower remain, the rest having been razed during the Wars of Religion. The present buildings, raised in the 17th and 19th centuries on these remains, are surrounded by a double ring of water filled moats fed by the Anguison river. Visitors can see a complete hydraulic system with a fountain, bridges and sluices, as well as a 17th century staircase and a beamed ceiling with wattle and daub infill inside.
