Ce château de la fin du 19ème siècle présente un mélange des styles des 17ème et 18ème siècles. L'intérieur est richement décoré et en parfait état de conservation (mosaïques en pavement, carreaux de faïence, vitraux). Le parc présente les caractéristiques éclectiques des parcs aménagés au début du 20ème siècle, combinant le parc paysager à une partie plus régulière ceinturée d'une balustre. Les dépendances constituent, à elles seules, une petite ferme pittoresque dont les toits présentent un beau faîtage. Canaples est emblématique de l'ascension sociale de la bourgeoisie provinciale.
