The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century, 16th century, 17th century, 18th century, 20th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

La première mention du château remonte à l'année 1351. La maison forte s'élève, alors, dans la partie septentrionale du château actuel. L'écrivain Paul Claudel en fait l'acquisition en 1927. A sa mort, en 1955, il sera enterré au fond du parc, conformément à son vœu. En raison de ses modifications et agrandissements successifs, l'édifice présente, aujourd'hui, un plan atypique en forme de « P ». Trois ailes dessinent une cour trapézoïdale cantonnée dans son angle nord-est par une tour ronde du 14ème siècle. A l'intérieur, quelques éléments du mobilier rappellent la carrière de Paul Claudel en Chine mais aussi à Prague ou à Bruxelles. Outre le château, sont disséminés plusieurs bâtiments de communs dans un parc composé de prés, sous-bois et verger, édifiés au 18ème siècle.
