Château de Benge stands in Collonges-la-Rouge (Corrèze), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
West of Collonges-la-Rouge, the Château de Benge presents an L-shaped silhouette, combining a fortified medieval dwelling with a later wing topped by a mansard roof. Visitors can see a spiral staircase tower known as the watchman's tower, remains of machicolations and a turret, all reflecting an architecture caught between defence and domestic comfort. An enclosed courtyard and garden, bordered by stone walls, complete this ensemble built of sandstone and limestone rubble.
