The castel Vuillier is the house that painter and illustrator Gaston Vuillier had built from 1896 onward at the edge of the village of Gimel-les-Cascades, close to the falls of the Montane river. A modest three-storey building, it keeps the layout the artist gave it: living rooms on the ground floor, bedroom and studio upstairs. A terraced garden stretches behind it, looking out over the waterfalls that Vuillier himself had listed as a protected site in 1912. The visit is part of the grounds he laid out around his home.
