To make a day of it

Château d'Armaillé stands in Loches (Indre-et-Loire), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Château d'Armaillé stands in Loches, close to the royal city and its medieval keep, on land once occupied by a Capuchin monastery. Built between 1839 and 1864 for Count Arthur de Marsay in the Napoleon III style, it combines tuffeau stone and red brick, a technique common throughout the Loire Valley. Its English-style landscaped park borders the Indre river and the three bridges linking the fortified town to the island and the village of Beaulieu-lès-Loches. After decades under state ownership, the estate returned to private hands in 2019.
