To make a day of it

Château de La Bussière stands in Loches (Indre-et-Loire), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 16th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

At Loches, on the slope of a small valley near Chanceaux-près-Loches and Mouzay, La Bussière castle combines a medieval core with Renaissance and nineteenth century additions. The main building flanked by two wings set at right angles, its corbelled turrets and the sixteenth century chapel lit by tall round arched windows reflect several waves of alteration over time. The estate has passed through eight centuries of owners, from the first recorded lady in 1235 to more recent figures from entertainment and beauty pageants.
