To make a day of it

Stettenberg stands in Orschwihr (Haut-Rhin), in the Grand Est region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The Stettenberg, sometimes called Altschloss, is a ruined medieval castle set on a rocky spur above the village of Orschwihr, in the vineyards of the Haut-Rhin. Built for the noble family of that name, vassals of the bishopric, the stronghold had a turbulent history before being destroyed in the early 15th century. Visitors come here mainly for the walk and the view over the Alsatian plain rather than for a structured tour.
