On the northwestern edge of Falaise, the Mesnil-Besnard manor house preserves 16th and 17th century buildings set within a square moated enclosure. Visitors can make out a main dwelling, outbuildings, a barn and two towers topped with conical roofs, a composition already noted by the 19th century scholar Arcisse de Caumont.
