The Zweite Belvedere was a Rococo pleasure pavilion built on the Brühlsche Terrasse beside the Elbe in Dresden, Saxony. Erected between 1748 and 1751 for Count Heinrich von Brühl to designs by Johann Christoph Knöffel, it formed part of the celebrated ensemble known as the Brühlsche Herrlichkeiten, seen as the high point of Dresden Rococo. The building was demolished in 1759 on the orders of Frederick II during the Seven Years' War, and nothing of it survives today except two stone sphinxes. These sculptures, still standing near the garden staircase, are the only tangible trace of the vanished structure.
