The Jägerhof is the oldest surviving building of Dresden's Neustadt district, built from 1569 for Elector Augustus of Saxony on the site of a former Augustinian monastery. Of the four original Renaissance wings only the west wing remains, marked by its scrolled gable and polygonal stair towers. It now houses the Museum of Saxon Folk Art along with a puppet theatre collection. In front of the building stands a sandstone figure of a huntsman with his dog, a copy of an older sculpture now displayed inside.
