To make a day of it
Wallburg Kahle stands in Lennestadt (Kreis Olpe), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.
The Wallburg Kahle is an earthwork fortification set on a ridge at 479.6 metres above sea level, east of Meggen, a district of Lennestadt, overlooking the Lenne valley. Three successive embankment lines, now partly worn away, once outlined the enclosure of a site that comparative archaeology places in the pre-Roman Iron Age. No datable finds have come from the area, apart from a smelting furnace reported from excavations prior to 1923 and heaps of brown iron ore still visible on the ground. The site is reached on foot from Meggen and has no visitor facilities.
