To make a day of it
Schloss Melschede stands in Sundern (Hochsauerlandkreis), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Melschede is a moated manor house in the Hövel district of Sundern. Its present appearance dates from the late 1650s, when Ferdinand Freiherr von Wrede zu Melschede commissioned a four-winged building, finished in 1669 after the original master builder from Trier died during construction. In the early 1820s, the north wing and two flanking towers were torn down, giving the house its current open, three-winged shape, later refined by alterations carried out in the early 1920s. The property is now used for concerts, exhibitions and civil weddings held by the town of Sundern.
