To make a day of it
Schloss Rauischholzhausen stands in Ebsdorfergrund (Landkreis Marburg-Biedenkopf), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Rauischholzhausen stands on a rise at the edge of Ebsdorfergrund, overlooking a 32-hectare English landscape park. Built between 1874 and 1878 for the industrialist Ferdinand Eduard Stumm to designs by the Frankfurt firm Mylius & Bluntschli, it was originally named Neu Potsdam, a deliberate echo of Prussian court architecture. The estate replaced an older moated castle belonging to the Rau von Holzhausen family and pairs its manor house with grounds laid out by Heinrich Siesmayer, the designer of Frankfurt's Palmengarten. Both the house and park now belong to the state of Hesse.
