To make a day of it

Schloss Ramholz stands in Schlüchtern (Main-Kinzig-Kreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 16th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Ramholz stands at Schlüchtern, in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, in Hesse, on a site recorded since the 12th century. Its old core, built in the 16th century by the von Hutten family, survives with stepped gables and a stair tower, and was extended at the end of the 19th century by the Munich architects Emanuel and Gabriel von Seidl. The resulting complex blends Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Classicist and Art Nouveau features and sits within one of Germany's largest historicist landscape parks. Privately owned since 2014, the castle building itself is not open to visitors, though part of the park can still be walked.
